All Jazz games to be televised in HD; ROOT SPORTS to also televise four preseason contests.

SALT LAKE CITY (September 28, 2012) ROOT SPORTS announced today the 2012-13 telecast schedule for Utah’s upcoming NBA season.  ROOT SPORTS will televise Jazz games for the 24th consecutive season and will also show four Jazz preseason games.

This season, all 82 regular-season games will be televised by ROOT SPORTS with each game produced in high definition (HD). The four preseason contests ROOT SPORTS will air include October 12 vs. Oklahoma City, October 16 vs. L.A. Lakers in Anaheim, Calif., October 17 at L.A. Clippers and October 22 at Portland. For the third consecutive season, eight-year play-by-play announcer Craig Bolerjack will team up with former Jazzman and television analyst Matt Harpring for the majority of the ROOT SPORTS telecasts. Ron Boone will return to the Jazz for his 25th season with the franchise and continue to appear on telecasts for select games.

“We are looking forward to having each of our regular season games broadcast by ROOT SPORTS,” said Chris Baum, Senior Vice President of Broadcasting for the Utah Jazz.  “With each game available in high definition, combined with our talented broadcast team, we believe our fans are in for an entertaining season of Jazz basketball.”

All telecasts on ROOT SPORTS will feature a 30-minute pre and postgame show, along with a halftime show, hosted by Alema Harrington and analysts Thurl Bailey, Ron Boone and Phil Johnson.

“We are excited to bring fans all 82 regular season games plus preseason action this year,” said ROOT SPORTS Senior Vice President/GM Tim Griggs. “With our coverage of Utah Jazz basketball, fans will be treated to a first class viewing experience all season long.”

Due to programming obligations and territorial restrictions, all games may not be available in all areas of the ROOT SPORTS footprint. ROOT SPORTS begins its regular season telecast schedule with the Jazz’s home opener on October 31 when Utah begins the season against the Dallas Mavericks.
