ROOT SPORTS AND MOUNTAIN WEST TEAM UP WITH ROCKIES FOR COLLEGE NIGHTS

DENVER – ROOT SPORTS™ and the Mountain West Conference have teamed up with the Colorado Rockies on select dates for their University Hat Days. Back by popular demand, the Rockies University Hat Days series offers the opportunity for alumni, students, and fans of select universities the chance to socialize together at a Rockies game and make a contribution to their schools’ alumni association.

This season, three Mountain West universities will participate.

  • Colorado State University – Saturday,  August 6 (www.Rockies.com/CSU)
  • University of Wyoming – Saturday,  August 20 (www.Rockies.com/WYO)
  • Air Force Academy – Sunday,  August 21 (www.Rockies.com/AirForce)

In addition to a Rockies game ticket, fans who purchase the special ticket package will receive a university-specific themed Rockies hat and a donation will be made back to the university. As ROOT SPORTS is the official regional television partner of both the Colorado Rockies and the Mountain West, fans that purchase these specially marked tickets will also receive a university-themed can koozie presented by the Mountain West, the university, and ROOT SPORTS while supplies last. Please note, the University themed Rockies ticket package is only available online at www.Rockies.com/themedates.

ROOT SPORTS Rockies telecasts on these nights will also highlight the universities and feature Colorado State alum Jenny Cavnar and Wyoming alum Jeff Huson. Air Force football coach Troy Calhoun will join ROOT SPORTS broadcasters in the booth for an inning on August 21.

ROOT SPORTS televises 150 Colorado Rockies games each year, as well as spring training games and ancillary programming. ROOT SPORTS is also the exclusive home of 8 Mountain West football games in 2016 and approximately 30 Mountain West men’s basketball games each season.
